“From” prices are published tier floors that rise with volume — the vendor’s own calculator has the exact figure. Per-MAU is computed only where a flat published price covers the selected volume. Full methodology below; the static cost table has the entry-tier view.

All prices verified from vendors’ own pricing pages on August 21, 2026.

methodology

How the quotes are built.

Published numbers only

Every figure comes from the vendor’s own pricing page on the date stamped above. Appcues publishes no prices at all and Pendo none for paid tiers — their rows say so, because a guess dressed as a quote would defeat the point of the tool.

Floors labelled as floors

Several vendors publish a “from” price for a tier that scales with MAU inside its band. Those show as “from $X” — a minimum, never an estimate. Billing bases are flagged too: some floors assume a year prepaid.

Per-MAU, only when honest

The per-MAU column divides price by volume only for exact quotes. It’s the number that exposes the real spread — entry tiers in this category differ by roughly 75× per user reached.

Where do the calculator's numbers come from?

From each vendor's own public pricing page, read on the date shown on this page. Exact prices appear only where a vendor publishes a flat price covering your selected volume; tier floors that scale with volume show as "from" prices; and where a vendor publishes nothing (Appcues, Pendo's paid tiers) the calculator says so instead of repeating third-party guesses.

Why do some tools show "from" instead of a price?

Because that's all the vendor publishes: a floor for a tier whose real price rises with your MAU inside the band. Treat a "from" figure as the minimum you'd pay at that volume — the vendor's own calculator or sales team has the exact number.

Why is per-MAU blank for some rows?

Per-MAU cost is computed only from exact published prices. Dividing a "from" floor by your MAU would understate what scaling vendors actually charge, so we'd rather show a dash than a flattering wrong number.

What does onboarding software typically cost?

Published entry tiers in this category run from $0 to $299 per month, covering wildly different volumes — 500 to 25,000 MAU — which is why per-MAU cost spans roughly 75× across vendors. Volume, not the sticker, is where the real differences live; that's the comparison this calculator exists to make visible.

Is this calculator biased toward Wakeline?

We make Wakeline, and the calculator marks our row plainly. The defense against bias is the method: published numbers only, floors labelled as floors, unpublished marked as unpublished, and every figure re-checkable against the vendor's own page in one click. If the math favors us at most volumes — and it does — that's the pricing, not the presentation.

Or test the $0 row on your own app.
